Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are changing to Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
In order to meet Global Harmonized Standards and comply with forthcoming OSHA hazard communications rules, CSI will change from its current Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and move to the new Safety Data Sheets (SDS). In correlation with this change we will stop including hard copies of this information with the containers. This change is consistent with our meeting environmental impact objectives and will utilize current technologies in an efficient manner.
The product labels will have a QR code in the lower left hand corner of the product label. The QR code can be scanned with a QR reader from a smartphone or other device. The QR code is linked to automatically bring up the SDS for that product.
There is also a website address for the SDS’s listed on the label below the ‘Caution and First Aid’ information. Once on the website page, you simply enter in the product number, item name or description, and click search. The product/products will appear in a list below. Click “View” on the right hand side of the product you want to view.
An SDS link has also been added to the LustraBear.com website under the Products tab.
The new process for obtaining SDS information will make it more convenient to access the information that is needed. We will begin to phase in this new system in the near future so for a while you may see some products with the MSDS attached and others with the SDS information on the label. Eventually all products will have the SDS information on the label.
If a customer does not have internet access, CSI will mail or fax the required SDS upon request by calling 1.800.225.2231. Please contact your regional manager or customer service if you have any questions.
