Subject: Spacing Ultraflex® Reservoir Brackets Off the Wall
Explanation:
When mounting the P18000001 Ultraflex reservoir mount brackets to a wall that has obstacles (conduit, plumbing, etc.) that require the brackets to be spaced off of the wall, a spacer of the same thickness is required to be installed to support the bottom edge of the reservoir (see below).
When a reservoir mount bracket is spaced off of the wall and the bottom is not supported at the same distance as the reservoir, the bracket and the reservoir do not align correctly. The excessive stress applied to the reservoir can possibly cause stress cracks or cut through the reservoir over a period of time.
Immediate action if problem arises:
Installations that the reservoir bracket is spaced off of the wall and a spacer was not installed at the bottom of the reservoir the reservoirs should be inspected for cracks and cuts in the area the bracket supports the reservoir. If cracks or deep cuts are noticed the reservoirs should be replaced. An additional spacer of the same thickness, the mount bracket is spaced off the wall should be added at the location so the bottom edge of the reservoir rests against it when hung on the wall bracket.
Long term resolution:
When installing the P18000001 reservoir wall mount brackets and obstacles require the brackets to be spaced off the wall, plan to place an additional spacer to support the bottom edge of the reservoir at the same distance.
