Staying in compliance with laws and regulations is a challenge for all businesses. Not only are many hard to understand and interpret but many are changing with time as well. CSI wants to provide valuable information so its distributors can stay in compliance with the latest laws, rules, and regulations.
The attached DOT Bulletin provides valuable information regarding the regulations governing the transportation of hazardous materials. Please note that the bulletin explains the requirements to have an appropriate CDL with the Hazmat endorsement and details the additional required training. The Bulletin also describes the Materials of Trade (MOT) exemption for certain small shipments of 440 pounds or less. CSI’s four one gallon packaging meets many of the requirements to qualify for the MOT exemption.
We recommend that you read this bulletin carefully and train those employees that may, at any time, transport hazmat items.
